School Prize Giving

 On Monday the 5th of December my school had a prize giving. It was really long but it was good seeing other students getting prizes. I got a certificate for being a great prefect in 2021 ( Sorry I don't have a picture of my award ). 

All of these students won at least one to three awards.

These are the new prefects for 2022.

SLJ Teaser: Art Colouring Book NASA Edition

Today my class cyber smart teacher came to show us a cool site where you can colour anything you want it to be. It was a lot of fun to do. All you had to do was choose a colour from the pallet below and then  colour it in with the mouse cursor.

Water Slide

On Friday last week, my class and I were going to go down a water slide on a hill in our school. We went down a water slide because we were suppose dto go Wero Whitewater Park but our session was cancelled.  

Our school care taker was the one who made water slide with a sprinkler and some fabric that wasn't so rough. We all got turns going down the water slide, some people tried riding each other, other people tried rolling and other people slid normally.

 

The Day I Came Back To School

On Wednesday the 17th of November I arrived at school to the applause of my teacher and classmates. I felt so excited to be back at school.  Later that day my class and I had to move our desks to the multipurpose room. 

We are next door to another Year 7 and 8 class. I am happy to work with other class. After that I got to do my activities that I didn't complete during lock down. I feel tired doing all of this work.

What Is A Hangi

What is a Hangi?

A hangi is a feast cooked in an earth oven for several hours. People have used this method for over hundreds of years. The food used in a hangi is locally produced meat and vegetables such as pork, chicken, lamb, beef, pumpkin, kumara, potato, fish and eels. 

The food is prepared, peeled, cut and wrapped in either flax leaves or cabbage. It is then placed in baskets before being lowered into a hangi pit.

I am sharing my Hangi research that learned about from this week.

I am sharing this because I want to share my learning with everyone.

Cyber smart Challenge #22 Empowerment

 

This week's Cybersmart Challenge was about empowerment, which is the "authority or power given to someone to do something". We should follow these instructions when we receive a blog comment that makes you sad or when you receive an email that makes you sad. Something important I learned from this challenge is to tell a teacher or an adult if you don't know what to do.

Google Meet Priorities

 

Last week my class and I had to complete a slide for our cyber smart task. We had to fill in the gaps with the right words. It was about the priorities we need to do when we are in a google meeting. 

8-Bit Art Work

 Today in Cybersmart wit Mr. Goodwin we were assigned to complete quality blog comments. Mr. G has been tracking our comments since two weeks ago. Ocean had the most posts and won a  healthy KitKat (Regular KitKat). 

We all learned  how to create our own digital Mario 8-bit art, as well as our own piece. I created PAC-MAN, a Ghost, Captain America and Iron Man.

      

Minecraft Education Edition: Dachau Concentration Camp

This week my class and I had to choose a Refugee task from our learning site. I chose to build the Dachau Concentration Camp. I had to use a game called Minecraft Education Edition it was a lot of fun and a lot of hard work, here is my build.         

 

What if you were your dad/parents but in there childhood ?

 If I were my dad but in there childhood it would not be fun.

If I were my dad it would be very hard because my dad was born in Samoa and he did a lot of work he had to cook dinner, feed the animals, sell coco, and get a job.

Silly Pictures

 

Today for out cyber smart we had silly pictures with our favourite celebrities or anime characters. I met Goku at McDonald I asked what its like saving planets and he said it is a lot of work. After that I asked him if I could take a picture with him. That was the best day of my life.

Today our activity was to do origami for our activity.

Samoan Language Week

 For Samoan language week all the Samoan year 7 and 8's had to share an item with a class. Every day we had to go to a different class and share the same item I hope you enjoy my item.

                        

What If

                                            

Today's writing session was a fun and silly one. Writing can be fun and silly, but things that shouldn't be silly in our writing includes accurate spelling, punctuation and grammar - thanks for lesson and reminder, Mr Goodwin! 

Over the next few days, Room 7 will also be writing their own "What if" experiences. Please keep an eye out for their pieces of writing - enjoy!             

What if you were invisible ?

 If I were invisible it would not be fun.

If I were invisible it would be very bad because no one would be able to see me and it would be like being a ghost. I would get to not go to school but it would be very lonely. I would not be able to wear anything because anything I wear it would also become invisible. The only thing is that people can hear me 

I would just stay home and play games on my phone but will be really hard because I can not see where my fingers are.

If I were invisible it would not be fun.

What if you were a teacher ?

For our cyber smart we are making a lot of what ifs and for today we did what if you were a teacher.

 If I were a teacher for a day, it would be really fun .

My classroom would be year 1 and 2, they would be very loud and they would be very creative. 

I would ask them to draw whatever they like and wic ever one is the best they would get a gold star. If we went on a field trip it would be too Sea Life (Kelly Tarltons).
